A phytoplankton bloom continues to flourish off the coast of Argentine Patagonia, tinging the Atlantic’s waters bright shades of blue and green. The bloom has be present there since October (click here for previous images). Some colors are also visible along the coastline, by Bahía Blanca (above) and in the San Matías Gulf (just above center). The former is likely caused by a mix of sediments and phytoplankton, while the latter may be predominately phytoplankton due to its electric blue color.
